The Fascinating Story Of Shep Gordon, Recalled In A Documentary Under The Title Of Supermensch

Gordon, one of the most enigmatic talent managers, handled the careers of  a number of key characters in the entertainment industry ranging from Alice Cooper to Raquel Welch, as well as being a master chef .

– Directing a documentary on a character as Shep Gordon would be no mean feat for even the most talented and experienced that Hollywood has to offer. Yet a documentary on the life of such a multi-talented individual is the project that Canadian actor and comedian Mike Myers has taken upon himself, with impressive results. The film, beautifully entitled ‘Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon will focus on the career of one of the entertainment industry’s most talented and charismatic personal managers Shep Gordon, who at one time or another managed  the  careers of Alice Cooper, Blondie, Deborah Harry, Raquel  Welsh  and the Gypsy Kings, as well being credited the man who cleaned up the entire concept of celebrity chefs, and who counts the Dalai llama amongst his long list of personal friends. A choice selection from a long list of  personal friends, in particular Michael Douglas and Sylvester Stallone were all delighted to be given the opportunity of appearing in Myer’s documentary. Discussing the documentary, which was released in August of last year and is only now beginning to hit the mainstream, Mike Myer’s stated that he first met Shep Gordon while he was making his first Wayne’s World movie during the early nineties. Myers recalled his first meeting with Gordon when he requested the rights to use and Alice Cooper’s song, “Feed my Frankenstein” in the film not only did Gordon agree that even arrange for a cameo appearance by Cooper himself, and the pair have been friends ever since. In a recent interview Mike Myers sit out the first time he met Shep Gordon he gained the impression that he was a perfect combination of ” Brian Epstein, Marshall McLuhan and Mr Magoo” . Supermensch originally made its screen debut in Myer’s hometown of Toronto is at the Film Festival in September 2013  and has subsequently gone on to gain tremendous critical approval at the recent Miami International Film Festival. Packed with interviews from some of his closest friends and colleagues supplement has been described as a movie that would enjoy a lot of following if it were ever be distributed distribution,  along as being popular on the film festival circuit.   Shep Gordon as well as being one of the entertainment industry’s busiest talent managers in his role as President of Alive Enterprises, is also co-chairman of Alive Films responsible for the  production and/or distribution of such innovative films as Choose Me, Koyaanisqatsi, the Oscar nominees  Betty Blue and Marlene and  Oscar winning Kiss Of The Spider Woman, whilst overseeing the production of movies by directors such talented directors as Wes Craven and John Carpenter. Ezra Music,   Gordon’s music publishing company is responsible for record sales in excess of one hundred million worldwide, with Shep having served as  executive producer on each and every of his clients recordings, Apart from his interest in the entertainment industry, Gordon  is one of the leading exponents of nouvelle cuisine, a hobby which became a business  through the founding of   Alive Culinary Resources, an agency which  represents  some of the world’s most d renowned chefs. As a result of his cooking abilities, Gordon  has formed a long term friendship with  His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the esteemed leader of Tibetan Buddhism who he met  after he appeared at a speaking engagement  in Los Angeles in 2003. Gordon, despite his busy schedule, offered his services to the Dalai Lami as his personal chef. Over the past 10 years, has traveled with the Dalai Lama to various engagements as well as serving on  the board of the Tibet Fund. –
