Israeli Student Makes Global List of Most Prolific Inventors Ever

The Global List of Most Prolific Inventors is also included famed inventors such as Thomas Edison, who held a total of 1,093 U.S. patents.

Assaf Natanzon, PhD Student, has made the list of most prolific inventors ever with 202 patent families registered to him. He is the first Israeli to make the list.

Natanzon, a PhD student of Prof. Eitan Bachmat’s in the Department of Computer Science at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, say: “I’m proud to be the first Israeli to make the list of Prolific Inventors. I already have 202 registered patents and 200 pending ones; my next goal is to reach 500 and then 1000 patents,” He adds, “Most of my patents are in the area of data protection and disaster recovery, which is also the subject of my Ph.D. thesis which I have recently submitted.”

Shunpei Yamazaki of Japan heads the list with 4,992 patents within 40 years, followed by Kia Silverbrook of Australia with 4,744 patents in 23 years. The list also includes famed inventors such as Thomas Edison, who held a total of 1,093 U.S. patents.
“Assaf is brilliant and perfectly combines strong theoretical and analytical skills with practical implementation-oriented know-how,” says Prof. Bachmat, “We plan to continue doing research together and I hope he will continue his involvement with BGU in the future as an adjunct professor in the Department of Computer Science.”

Natanzon registered the patents for work he has done for Dell EMC as VP Advanced Technology and Investment evaluation EMEA, Distinguished Engineer.
