The Big Chocolate Robbery: Thieves in Germany Emptied a Truck With 20 Tons of Nutella and Kinder Eggs

Police in central Germany is looking for a group of robbers who stole a semi-trailer loaded with 20 tons of chocolate products. Meanwhile, a truck with a juice load has also disappeared in the north of the country.

Police on Monday issued a request for help after a cooled trailer, loaded with jars of chocolate Nutella, Kinder eggs, and other chocolate candies, disappeared from the city of Neustadt over the weekend. “Anyone who has received an offer to purchase a large quantity of chocolate through non-conventional channels should immediately report to the police,” the statement said.

 

 

The cargo, valued at 70,000 euros ($ 82,000), was stolen between Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, according to the police. A police spokesman told local media that the perpetrators must have had their own truck, not a regular car, to drag the huge trailer. Police investigating whether the robbery was linked to another robbery in nearby Weimar which also took place over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Weinberg police are looking for a semi-trailer loaded with 30 tons of juice, worth 70,000 euros, stolen on Saturday morning, and they asked for help from the public.
