The Schumacher Unveils Its Newly Restored Exterior

 

After about two years, all of the scaffolding has finally been removed from The Schumacher, the former printing factory turned condo building at 36 Bleecker Street. The restoration of the 19th-century building includes the cast-iron storefronts (though there will be no retail), the pediment, and the removal of 50, 000 layers of white paint. Contracts and closings are also underway, so developer Aby Rosen, talent agent Jim Berkus, and art dealer Alberto Mugrabi will soon be moving in.
