Lebanese Military Claims Israeli Drone Crashed By Tripoli Airport

Mideast Lebanon Israel

The Lebanese military has stated that an Israeli drone crashed near the airport in Tripoli, a city located on the country’s southern coast. It reportedly happened at 8:30 AM local time, 1:30 AM Eastern time in the U.S.

The Lebanese military further stated that the Israeli military launched a strike to destroy the drone, which it said was conducting surveillance of their country. This, it asserts, explains an explosion which was heard in the area.

“[It] is still not 100 percent clear but most probably it was an Israeli air strike to destroy their drone, ” a Lebanese source told Reuters.

The Israeli government has declined to comment.
