Iran asks cartoonists to mock the Islamic State

Other cartoons criticize the alleged US aid to the rise of ISIS with its invasion of Iraq in 2003 which overthrow the regime of Saddam Hussein.

Iranian news agency IRNA reported on a new exhibition organized by the regime in which cartoonists from around the world were asked to to focus on the “crimes committed by ISIS.” They should mock the Islamic State group and the atrocities that it committed.

The contest’s executive director Mohammad Habibi said that 280 works will be chosen from some 800 submissions coming from over 40 countries – including Indonesia, Australia,  Brazil and Malaysia.
