A Mets fan decided he would no longer be silent about his displeasure with the team’s owners, and purchased billboard with the message, “Fred, Jeff & Saul, Ya Gotta Leave, ” as reported by rep-am.

The billboard is in Mets colors, blue, white and orange, and is located on interstate 95, a few miles from Tradition Field, the Mets training home. The message is directed at owner Fred, chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon and  president Saul Katz.

Gary Palumbo, 39, is the one who erected the billboard and raised $7, 000 for two others near Citi field in Queens. The indignation is over the fact that the Mets has not had a winning record in the last six seasons and haven’t made the playoffs since 2006. The billboard is expected to stay up until the team begins spring training in April.

Palumbo told the Associated Press, “Most Mets fans really dislike the Wilpons and don’t think they are capable of running a team in New York properly. I completely appreciate the fact that (the billboard) won’t convince them to sell their team, but I hope it will put pressure.”
