Starbucks Claims It Has Nothing to Do With Monsanto

Monsanto Starbucks

After legendary rocker Neil Young said he bought his last latte at the popular coffee joint, Starbucks said it has nothing to do with the lawsuit against the state of Vermont over GMO labeling.

According to TIME, Vermont passed a law saying that it should label food products containing GMO. Monsanto has threatened a lawsuit, and Starbucks was thought to have been a supporter of Monsanto. That is what led Neil Young to advocate a boycott against Starbucks. Management released a statement, “Starbucks is not part of a lawsuit. Starbucks is not aligned with Monsanto to stop food labeling or block Vermont state law.”
