Michael Dezer To Sell His World's Largest Collection Of James Bond Cars

Michael Dezer, owner of one of the largest collections of “ Movie Star Motors ” which he keeps on display in his museum in Miami, Florida has announced that he will be selling off one of the largest part of his compilation of classic cars-a total of 59 vehicles each of which have appeared in at least one James Bond movie with the oldest being a  Fairey Huntress boat which featured in the 1963 movie “From Russia with Love” when Sean Connery played the part of 007.

Dezer has stipulated that he is not interested in selling any of the cars in the collection individually and is insisting that they be sold in a single parcel for which he is asking just 20 million pounds or $30 million!

The man behind the collection, multi-millionaire Michael Dezer purchased many of the cars from a James Bond museum in 2011. In the preceding two years, he added a selection of other James Bond vehicles and as it stands, the collection consists of 59 vehicles. As it stands, all the cars are currently on display in a Miami museum.

The person who will be handling Dezer’s collection of Bond UK car auction specialist Stuart Donovan admitted that while the collection may be the biggest and best of Bond cars to be found anywhere in the world, it appears that storing them in a museum in Miami Florida may be detracting from their value, with the best place for these cars may well be in the UK where James Bond has consistently had more of a following.

Among the list of 59 vehicles which Dezer is selling are six Aston Martins,  two BMW sports cars and two BMW motorbikes, one BSA motorbike and two Cavigas, a Dragon tank, two Fords, four Land Rovers,  five   Lotuses and a long list of sundry vehicles.

According to Stuart Donovan the most notable vehicles in the collection are  the white Lotus Esprit Turbo that appeared in ‘For Your Eyes Only’, the Jaguar XKR from ‘Die Another Day’, ‘an Aston Martin V8 from ‘For Your Eyes Only’, the BMW Z8 from ‘The World is Not Enough’ as well as a Lockheed Jetstar Jet from ‘Gold Finger’!

Michael Dezer has the rightful reputation for being one of the most intrepid car collectors in the world, with a collection of more than one thousand vehicles, the majority of which have been featured in some of the most iconic movies of the last 40 years. Among the cars stored in the  Dezer Museum in North Miami are  the 1948 hot rod Ford from the movie Grease, the 1959 Cadillac from Ghostbusters , the 1981 DeLorean which featured in Steven Spielberg’s Back to the Future as well as an original Batmobile.
