Goldblum, a veteran of the movie industry, will be joining up some of the industry’s hottest stars including Ewan McGregor, Gwyneth Paltrow, Olivia Munn and Paul Bettany.

Johnny Depp will not only be starring the movie, but will be taking the role  of producer for the first time while David Koepp will be directing, with the screenplay adapted for the big screen being written by Eric Aronson.

Mortdecai is the first joint project between Lionsgate Films and Odd Lot Entertainment, which was founded in 2001 by  producers Gigi Pritzker and Deborah Del Prete , and will mark the start of a long-term collaboration between the two production companies.

Jeff Goldblum  began his career in the movie industry in the mid-seventies, playing in a number of supporting roles, with his career gradually gaining impetus in the eighties and nineties. Goldblum has appeared in a number of major box-office successes including the friends of Alex The Fly, Jurassic Park, its sequel Jurassic Park: The Lost World, and his last major box office success Independence Day shot in 1996.
